MILAN FASHION WEEK MEN’S GUIDE 2024

Date

The curtain rises on Milan Fashion Week for men. The event, through Jan. 16, will feature the new fall-winter 2024/2025 collections of emerging and non-emerging brands, with a total of 22 physical and 5 virtual fashion shows, 32 presentations and 8 events.

All eyes for this edition are on the long-awaited debut of Stone Island, which for the first time since its founding – 1982 – will walk the runway presenting its new ‘Manifesto’ at the industrial setting of La Cattedrale. The spotlight are also on today’s debut of the ‘men’s’ collection by Gucci’s newly appointed creative director Sabato De Sarno. Last September he had officially debuted in his role by presenting the line dedicated to women.

In addition to the big names in the industry, new names are also sweeping the Milanese capital, such as Pronounce, a brand founded in 2016 by Yushan Li and Jun Zhou between Shanghai and Milan that decided to present its idea of multicultural menswear in Milan, after several editions at London Fashion Week.

It will also be the first time for nine brands making presentations such as Domenico Orefice, Institution By Galib Gassanoff, LaTorre, Mordecai, Noskra, Rubeus Milano, Stuart Weitzman, ViaPiave33 and Woolrich Black Label By Todd Snyder.

Among the names, however, now regulars on the Milan runways are Andersson Bell, Federico Cina, MSGM, JW Anderson, DSquared2, Prada, Giorgio Armani and Zegna. Fendi also returns to the runway.

But who’s missing?
This year Etro changes its strategy and, instead of spotlighting the catwalk, on Sunday, January 14, it will open its first Milanese boutique dedicated to men’s tailoring, with ‘made to order’ options. In the next fashion week in February dedicated to women, he will present a co-ed including men’s. Also missing from the roll call are Magliano (because he was already present at Pitti Uomo as a guest designer), Charles Jeffrey Loverboy and 1017 Alyx 9SM.

Not invited to the shows, but want to see them? No problem. In addition to the big screens placed around the city, YouTube and the brands’ various social channels, Camera Moda provides its milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it. platform to watch the live shows. Are you in China or Japan? You can use Tencent video and Asahi Shimbun.

But hey, there will also be events open to the public. All eyes are on the project “Tailoring school. A journey into education” curated by Luca Stoppini, realized by Kiton and Triennale Milano. The heart of the event? The celebration of young artisans. The week ends on Monday, Jan. 15, with the Let’s Dance at Plastic event to “have fun,” Capasa stresses.

Meanwhile, engines are also warming up for Paris Fashion Week (Jan. 16-21) and the one dedicated to Haute Couture (Jan. 22-25), also in the French capital. But that’s not all. Some clues have already come out about the next Milan Fashion Week that will focus on womenswear and will take place next February 20-26. Stay tuned!
