LINGERIE DIARIES: THE BEST FW 21/22 TRENDS! | BY @THECASHMEREDIARIES
Bonjour les filles and welcome back to a new appointment with our column dedicated to the world of lingerie!
Autumn is just around the corner and like every year, we are in the mood for a makeover, especially in our wardrobe. It’s the perfect season to try out the new trends that will accompany us throughout the winter… and the same goes for lingerie!
That’s why I wanted to dedicate today’s appointment to the FW21/22 trends in underwear. Whether you want to make them 100% your own or simply get inspired to buy a new item or try something out of your comfort zone, I’m sure you’ll love them. Let’s get started!
1. SIMPLE COMFORT
After the soft, flowing shapes of loungewear conquered the catwalks, the world of lingerie also embraced this trend with seamless bras and briefs, delicate colours and super comfortable fits. Seamless models, beige and natural tones, super-breathable cotton and silicon cups without underwire, to be worn out of the house.
2. KNITTED LOVERS
If this summer we played with crochet, or the crochet trend, winter could only bring us the knitted style. In fact, this trend started last winter, but will be with us for at least the next six months. Extra soft knitted bralettes, ultra mini shorts in super soft cashmere with their matching cardigan are perfect for lounging at home… or in the case of the bralette, for peeking out under a V-neck jumper!
Cutouts are a trend that I love very much and I’m sure they will continue to dominate throughout spring/summer 2022. Combinations of sheer and satin fabrics, with a play on transparency and shiny/matt contrasts, are gorgeous on bodysuits, bralettes and bras, and perfectly suited to both more romantic models in delicate whites and pinks, and bolder models with bold, rocker palettes.
4. GOTHIC & BAROQUE
For those who don’t like minimalist styles, this trend will be love at first sight: sumptuous combinations of black and gold, burgundy, feathers, ruffles and more. This style plays with exaggerated cuts, from maxi volumes to super tight models. The important thing is to exaggerate, but always with class.
EXTRA TIP: SUSTAINABILITY
I don’t feel like putting it together with the trends because more than a trend, it is a direction that the market is taking with decision (and it’s about time!). Recycled lace, sustainable production and respect for the conditions of workers, even lingerie is committing itself in this sense with increasingly green collections.
