TAFFETA
Taffeta is also made of silk, but this time it has more rigid, structured feel and it’s shiny and iridescent. It was among the most sought-after and popular fabrics in the past centuries, nowadays it is available in synthetic and artificial varieties.

TULLE
Made of gauze or silk, it’s a light fabrics with a large weave and it can be soft or rigid. Mostly used for bride veils.

TWEED
Classic thick fabric from Scotland, with an irregular look. Tweed is made of wool and it was the favourite fabric of Coco Chanel!

TWILL
Made of lightly ribbed silk. It’s the fabric of ties and foulards but it can be found also in light blouses.

VELVET
A wintery fabric, with a compact and “furry” surface. It’s very soft and it’s usually available in a smooth or ribbed version.

VEIL
As the name suggests, it’s a very light and transparent fabric. This, too, is available both in natural and synthetic fiber.
