New York is like that, a rebellious, fierce free spirit: and that is exactly what PRIVATE POLICY wants to share with the rest of the world. Founded by Siying Qu and Haoran Li, PRIVATE POLICY explores fashion as an outlet to express diversity, build a sense of community, and inspire meaningful conversations.
Each collection is inspired by the world of publishing and magazines, with each season being inspired by a socially relevant topic: and so for SS17 the two creative directors raised awareness of the issue of enslaved fishermen, in FW19 they discussed the relationship between men and money, and in FW20 they unveiled the dark side of American Big Pharma.
Their designs are constantly evolving, garments contaminate and hybridize, interpreting the concept of fluidity with tank tops with suspenders, bikinis with sleeves, gun holsters that become mini bags. The common thread of the collections is the theme of sustainability and genderless fashion, far from any definition, label or stereotype.
There was also no shortage of confirmation and recognition from the fashion world. In fact, Haoran Li and Siying Qu were named Fashion Group International Rising Stars, included in the Forbes China 30 under 30 list, won the GQ China Present award, became CFDA / VOGUE Fashion Fund finalists in 2019, and were recently the winners of the Lane Crawford Global Creative Callout 2020.
PRIVATE POLICY collections are available at Selfridges, Printemps.com, Holt Renfrew, Lane Crawford, HBX.com, t.a. New York, Machine A, Doors.com and other boutiques internationally.
